The Meaning of the Lord’s Supper
“Do this in remembrance of me.” Jesus utters these words as he shares his last meal his closest friends.
At Oakhaven we share this meal called the Lord’s Supper every Sunday as we assemble for worship. Throughout history the supper has been practiced in numerous ways and has varied in consistency and importance to the life of worship. What meaning do we find in the Old Testament, and what significance did Jesus and the New Testament writers give to this meal? What can we learn that will inform our practice?
In this class we will spend time in Scripture studying the various texts that deal with the meaning of the Lord’s Supper. Join us on Sundays at 9:30am for Bible study & discussion!
